About the Group:
|
Shamley Green Village Society was set up in 1990, with the aims to: · Maintain and improve the environment in which we live · Monitor and influence, where appropriate, proposals for developments affecting the village · Provide a forum for the people of the village to express their views on relevant topics. We serve as a voice for the village and represent its interests with the local authorities and other bodies. Our major campaign in the past has been to stop the infilling of the Woodhill sandpit; today we are focused on reducing the speed of the traffic through the village. We have good working relationships with the Wonersh Parish Council, Waverley Borough Council, Surrey County Council, the Police, CPRE and other organisations, which served us well during our various campaigns.
